Turns out none of us are all that special. Look at the similarities in our own backgrounds, for example.

Well...I wouldn't say our similarities make it so that we are not special. Just that we can relate. Which isn't such a bad thing.

Though, I wouldn't wish my particular romantic troubles on anyone...I apologize.

I would accept that apology, were it not too late.

[He tries his best to hide a smile, one of those wide ones that makes his face look more boyish than anything. Embarrassing.]

I, at least, have the advantage of being worlds away from my paramour. I'm afraid you, however, are stuck.

[Sesa sighs heavily. He should probably be drinking water, he's getting a headache...]

I fear I am too far gone at this point anyway. I am...helplessly enamored with him. I cannot help myself.

[Since they've established... something of a friendship between them, despite it all, Luca doesn't hesitate to act up. His face twists in a mock gag.]

[Bro wdym something of a friendship, Sesa is Your Friend Now. You are friends where you like it or not Luca, you've BEEN friends since ya'll got all snuggly on the couch.]

It isn't as if I have anyone else to talk to!

[FLOPS down dramatically once again]

Gnosis wouldn't understand, he's a happily married man...and I wouldn't dare bother Mizuki about it, he has enough on his plate. [HE'S A THERAPIST] Mr. Silverash...he makes me nervous enough as it is in this regard.

[For some reason, that makes him laugh. Not even in a cruel manner, just... grimly amused at his circumstances.]

Strangers, are we? And here I thought we'd met at least once. Or did you choose to forget all about that?

[Luca briefly contemplates responding. Instead, his lips gnash together and he quickly turns from Sesa, though not before revealing the faint, coppery flush against his cheeks. He pretends to busy himself with a set of bottles for a time.

If he's lucky, Sesa will go away. And when that inevitably fails...]

You would be better off forgetting all about that.

[sesa]

We do not have to speak about it if you would rather not. Just know that it didn't make me think of you any differently. We were all affected strangely that week.

...and I still meant everything I told you, anyway.

... That we are all family, yes?

[sesa]

Yes. Perhaps it is presumptuous of me to say, but...it is better than us all being enemies, no?

It is a nice sentiment.

I only hope the others have a similar view point.

Perhaps some do...perhaps they do not.

[He shrugs one shoulder, tracing his claw along the rim of a now-empty glass.]

I just feel that we would all be better off as a collective. There are so few of us as it is, and it is us against this world. Never mind the fact that we all share the common trait of having lived a past live on these very grounds.

[unheiring]

I am glad you feel you can trust so willingly. Unfortunately, I cannot share the sentiment. Past lives are one thing — we all grew up very different in our separate worlds.

[sesa]

I understand. We aren't at all like we were in the past. Not that we can even remember it anyway.

[But it's worth remembering. Perhaps he is biased, given how much of his own past he's both seen and experienced at this point.]

[unheiring]

It might be nice to know.

[It also might be terrible. He tries not to think about it either way.]

But that's besides the point. I'm going to need to put up a sign that says "no heavy conversation" beyond these walls. [He's joking. Probably.] How's your head?

[sesa]

It is throbbing. [Thank you for asking.] Typically I can handle more than a few drinks but...I think I've had enough for one evening.

[unheiring]

[At that, Luca rolls his eyes.]

Stay there.

[He turns away, grabbing a spare glass. It's filled with some water and pushed over.]

Drink.

[sesa]

Ah...thank you.

[He'll just take that water and start sipping at it, slowly.]

Perhaps this will be my spirit of choice for a while.

[unheiring]

It's the better choice by far. And not just because it keeps you out of my hair.

[He makes a mildly dissatisfied noise.]

It has its uses when you wish to forget, but beyond that... alcohol has never been my drink of choice.

[sesa]

So what has been your drink of choice, then? If you care to enlighten me.

[Siiiip]

Water. [Is he smirking? Maybe just a little.]

And when that fails... wine from home. It's a popular enough import, if a bit more difficult to find in the far reaches of home.

I am still trying to find the closest approximation to it here.

[sesa]

Well, you know...you could always ask Heimr for it.

[He suggests, gesturing with his water glass.]

Then you wouldn't have to worry about an approximation. It would be the real thing!

I could. [There's something in his tone that implies that he won't. Why do I always play the characters that won't let themselves have nice things.]

Don't you have your own things to worry about? Your headache is going to be terrible if you do not drink more.
