[At least you're not a Vouivre, half-drunk and bemoaning his weird love life. That'd just be ridiculous.]
Indeed. I left home eight years ago, and have yet to return. [He chuckles, all without a single drop of humor.] Though I suppose this is the furthest I have ever been.
[livio can't relate to having a home. at least, not one that he's willing to admit as such, even if his heart says otherwise. he wants to ask more, but isn't sure what's considered nosy or too friendly. maybe he'll drink the rest of his glass while he thinks over his next words.]
It reminds me of home. And it is what I know best, at least as far as talents that can be applied on the road.
[There are also the spare bounties he picks up when he needs, but that's not exactly a topic for pleasant company. Not that he thinks someone like Livio would clutch his pearls over the topic. Warm as his exterior might be, you don't get to be as big and as broad as a man like that without having won a few fights. Never mind the weapons at his sides.]
[luca makes it sound sooo appetizing... but again, livio won't waste it. he does smell it first, and his eyes almost pop out of his head. he looks like he regrets this for a second, but ultimately sighs and sips on it, too.
and chokes. and gasps. and pants a little.]
Oh, jeez, that's -- Christ.
[...]
Well. It sure does taste... clean. [luca. did you actually feed him disinfectant?]
I don't usually recommend people drink it straight.
[But didn't you just - Never mind.
He pours another tumbler of Gin. This time, though, he mixes it with some sort of greenish colored liquid, as well as a second bottle of liquor that smells far more sweet and floral. Finally, a more syrupy mixture is added in, before all parts are mixed together.
Well. [He shakes the bottle of liqueur with a smirk.] This is used typically to ease summer illnesses. It has a pleasant enough sweetness, so when combined with a bit of syrup, gin, and a bit of citrus juice...
[He'll only force one more drink on Livio. He's a big man, but he doesn't seem to have any experience with alcohol. And Luca doubts he'd be able to carry the guy home himself.
Anyway, he tracks down a carafe of orange colored juice. It's poured into a glass just before Luca turns his back to grab a corked bottle.]
Cover your ears. [It's the only warning Livio gets before he removes the cap. A rather large pop follows, along with an excessive amount of fizz siphoning out.]
[luca may be right. luca IS right. and what livio doesn't know is going to catch up to him in about 20 minutes.
he very much does not cover his ears, which... they both probably regret, considering he jumps and yelps at the pop. actually, livio himself just laughs after the fact.]

The travelin' sort, huh? Me, too.

Any thoughts on what you would like to try next?
no subject
[he gets that, at least. especially now.
... but this feels kind of miserable. he didn't come here to make luca feel bad.]
... Sorry. Uh, somethin' harder, maybe? Never even gotten buzzy before. Is that the right word?
no subject
[He shakes his head and turns back to the shelves. It's easier to compose himself when he's pretending to be busy.]
What parts do you like about whiskey? What do you not like?
no subject
Small mercies, I guess.
[he takes a moment to think on that. it's hard to put taste to words.]
... I'm not sure. It just tastes like burning, I guess.

[And with that in mind, Luca shuffles around until he pulls down a bottle of gin. He pours some of it into a tumbler, then pushes it over.]
Let me know what you think.

He passes this one over as well.]
Try this, instead.

maybe he eyes the cocktail for a moment before trying it, as well. after a moment, his brows raise.]
Oh. This one's nice, actually. What's that other stuff you put in it?
no subject
[He motions to the drink.]
There you have it.

I don't... know if that's how it should taste but. [Shaking his head.] Would you like something else to try?
no subject
Sure!
[still happily sipping on this, in the meantime.]

Shit -- aha, y'sure did warn me though!
no subject
Nothing bothers you, hmm?
[He pours the champagne into the long-stemmed glass with juice, then stirs it together.]
For later.
no subject
[did luca say "for later?" he's already reaching to sippy that one. it's pretty.]
no subject
[He gives a shrug. He's not complaining that Livio is shopping around for his tastes. Whatever keeps him pleased.]
