He ardently checks all the usual spots, even going as far as climbing up to the top of the church, in an effort to track him down. When that fails, he makes his way around the perimeter, searching for traces of glowing green fire. It would be just like the Gargoyle to immediately rush into more combat after nearly losing everything.
